Outdoor Annual Sports Day at H.K. Campus on Wednesday, 11th January, 2023.
Indoor Sports at OCER on Saturday, 7th January, 2023.
The college organized Annual Sports Event on 6th and 7th March 2019 at the H.K. Campus. The sportsground was filled with great enthusiasm and excitement. Both First year and Second year students participated in the two day event.
The programme began with lighting up the ‘mashal’ (torch) by the Principal Dr. Naaz Dhakam, the teachers and the student council. The torch was carried around the ground, as the fire is the symbol of life, rationalism and freedom.
The students displayed energetic participation in various events conducted such as follows:
- 100 metres running race
- Potato race
- Marble and spoon race
- Three legged race
- Sack Race
- Relay
- Tug of war
- Shot Put
TThe events were carried out in a fair and just manner. At the end of 2nd day the winners were awarded with certificates. Miss. Rachel David of S.Y.B.Ed was awarded with the certificate for Best Sportsperson. Principal Dr. Naaz Dhakam applauded the effort of the students and faculty members for making the event a huge success and also thanked H.K College of Education for permitting us to conduct the event in their campus.
It was a great event enjoyed by all and as rightly said “Play is the only way the highest intelligence of humankind can unfold.”
The college playground was filled with great zeal and excitement on 1st and 2nd February 2018 as the B. Ed student-teachers celebrated its Annual Sports Event. Both First year and Second year participated in the two day event.

The events were carried out in a fair and just manner. At the end of 2nd day certificates were given to the winners. For Best Sportsman Khan Safi was awarded with the certificate and for Best Sportswoman Hema Singh was awarded with the certificate.

The students displayed energetic participation in various events conducted such as

6. 50 metres running race (girls)
7. 100 metres running race (boys)
At the end of 2nd day there was an award ceremony put up for the winners.

The Annual Sports Meet every year is a two day event. This year it was organized on the 18th and 19th of March’16 jointly by Oriental College of Education and Research and Humera Khan College of Education on the grounds of Humera Khan Campus, Jogeshwari. The annual sports include the following events for boys and girls:-
- 100metres running race (boys)
- 50 metres running race (girls)
- Potato race
- Marble and spoon race
- Three legged race
- Relay
- Shot put
Tug of war between boys and girls is an add-on event for entertainment.
The event began with the prayer and taking the sportsman’s oath which was read out by the sports ministers Mr. Baiq Iqbal (OCER) and Ms. Shaheen (HKCE) and repeated by all the students in unison. A symbolic gesture of the passing of the torch beginning with the head of the Institution handing over the torch to the teachers and the teachers to the student council members was carried out. This marked the beginning of the annual sports meet.
The various events are conducted under the guidance of the teachers with proper instructions to the students. Heats and semi finals for the various events are held accordingly leading to the finals at the end of which the first three winners and two consolation prize winners are declared.
On the second day towards the end of the event the winners for the various events were announced and certificates were awarded. The title ‘Sports Athlete (male) and Sports Athlete (female)’ of the year is won by the students securing highest points which is based on the sum of points secured in individual events.
The event was a welcome break from the routine of academics and was overall enjoyed and appreciated by all.
