Internships provide student-teachers with invaluable experiences by integrating classroom learning with hands-on practice, assignment work, exam preparation, and involvement in extracurricular activities. Interns follow the academic calendar of their assigned institutions and work closely with teaching staff in real-world educational settings.
Internship Overview
The internship program at Oriental College of Education and Research (OCER) for Semester III (2023-24) lasted for 11 weeks, from 25th September 2023 to 15th December 2023. Under the guidance of the professor in charge, students secured placements in esteemed institutions for their practice teaching. Each student was assigned to a school based on their subject methodology.

INTERNSHIP GUIDELINES FOR B.Ed. STUDENTS AT ORIENTAL COLLEGE OF EDUCATION AND RESEARCH
The internship is designed to provide practical experience and professional development opportunities for aspiring educators.
Objectives of the Internship:
- To provide B.Ed. students with hands-on teaching experience in a real classroom setting.
- To enhance students’ pedagogical skills and teaching techniques.
- To foster collaboration and professional networking among students, faculty, and schools.
- To develop reflective practices and self-assessment skills among interns.
Duration and Schedule:
- The internship period will [Second SEM-3 weeks, Third SEM 11 weeks, Fourth SEM 5 weeks], as specified by the academic calendar.
- Interns are required to follow the schedule provided by the college and adhere to the designated working hours at the assigned school.
Placement Process:
- Interns will be assigned to partnering schools based on their specialization and availability.
- The placement process will be overseen by the internship coordinator and other faculty in-charges who will consider students’ preferences and learning objectives.
- Interns will receive orientation sessions before the start of their placement to familiarize themselves with the school environment and expectations.
Roles and Responsibilities:
