Introduction

The Green Club is an initiative that nurtures environmental consciousness and promotes sustainable practices among B.Ed. students. It serves as a platform to instill eco-friendly habits and to empower future educators to integrate environmental education into their teaching practices. The club aligns with the goals of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasizes holistic and experiential learning, along with the development of responsible citizenship.

The club encourages students to become active participants in preserving nature through awareness campaigns, hands-on eco-activities, and community outreach. By engaging in real-life environmental issues, student-teachers develop sensitivity, responsibility, and leadership—qualities essential for shaping future generations.

Objectives

  • To promote environmental awareness among B.Ed. students through experiential and participatory activities.
  • To foster eco-friendly practices such as waste reduction, water conservation, energy saving, and biodiversity preservation.
  • To integrate environmental education into teaching-learning processes, encouraging students to design green lesson plans and activities.
  • To encourage social responsibility and community engagement in environmental conservation efforts.
  • To develop leadership and advocacy skills in student-teachers for promoting sustainable development.
