The Women’s Development Cell (WDC) at Oriental College of Education & Research focuses on empowering women and promoting gender equality within the campus and the broader community.
Objectives
- Awareness of Gender Issues: Create awareness among student teachers about the problems faced by women due to gender issues.
- Awareness of Issues Related to Girls in Schools: Educate student teachers about the challenges faced by girls in schools.
- Sex Education Training: Equip student teachers to provide sex education to school students.
- Knowledge Dissemination: Spread knowledge about women’s rights and laws.
- Self-Esteem and Confidence Building: Enhance the self-esteem and self-confidence of female student teachers from socially backward backgrounds.
- Financial Literacy: Develop financial literacy among female student teachers.
ACTIVITIES
- Talks on legal rights of women.
- Workshop on providing education to school children on child sexual abuse.
- Financial literacy program.
These efforts aim to create a supportive and informed community, both within the college and in the larger society, promoting the upliftment and progress of women.
